Montegrappa Mayan Calendar Limited Edition

The Montegrappa Mayan Calendar Limited Edition reminded me of the 2009 science fiction disaster film directed by Roland Emmerich. It is a epic adventure about a global cataclysm that brings an end to the world and tells of the heroic struggle of the survivors.

The Mayan Calendar predicts the end of the world on December 21, 2012. The December 21,2012 : Myth or Truth?

The Mayan calendar moves in cycles with the last cycle ending in December 2012. It is often interpreted as "the world will end on 21 December 2012, at 11:11 UTC".  The last day of the Mayan calendar corresponds with the Winter Solstice (or December Solstice), which has played a significant role in many cultures all over the world.

Montegrappa Espressione Fountain Pen

First there is a new range of pens called Memoria. An Italian word which mean memory.

Now, Montegrappa launced their Espressione with a new look and colors.

The first thing that attracted us is the mother-of-pearl resin materials that was used for the pen, and the plating used. Unlike other brand, Montegrappa chose to use rhodium plating, which will maintenace it beauty and shine as look as there is no bad scratch on the trimming.

If this new pen model does not make you feel it is a actually a "new" model, you are not the only one. We feel the same way too.

Roma Aeterna Limited Edition

Most of the pen that we encountered in the past using are inspire by one thing or a theme. Montegrappa Roma Aeterna draws the inspiration for its remarkable decoration from two places, which with the great strength of symbolic imagery speak to people today of the grandeur of Ancient Rome: the Roman Forum, the pulsating centre of the city’s political and military power, and the city of Pompeii, the extraordinarily vivid and expressive evidence of the daily life of the great patrician families.

According to an Today newspaper article dated November 22, 2009 titled "Declining Population - Venice mourns its death", the population of the city is declined to at a alarming number of below 60,000.  The local feel like an endangered species and fear that the city into a ghost city in 30 years with no Venetians left.

During the transition between Richmont to Elmo Monegrappa, they introduced the limited edition City d'Arte Venezia. It helped to give the city the necessary attention from the fountain pen world.
