The idea of sharing pen shop details with others started in 2009. Next year (2011), we will be expand details of shop retailing cool and eco stationary. We local as well as our visiting friends will find it helpful.

    If you buy the pen from the counter at Taka, BHG or Fook Hing Trading, I think they engraved for you at no cost. I understand that Fook Hing Trading will provide the service at a cost.

    I am kind of looking for a collection of black ink pens of different brands, types etc. It is a part of an ink analysis research. Could you suggest me some stores where a huge variety of such inks can be found. You have mentioned stores at ION Orchard etc. I guess they must be selling at an expensive price. I may be wrong as well.

    Hey thanks for your rather informative guide to shopping for pens! Unfortunately I am new to fountain pens and I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations for any particular pen or place to get one under $100 that I can use for picking up flex writing/calligraphy? I'm not into the aesthetics of the pen body much but I kinda like my pens to have some weight. I'm currently using the Ocean Blue Lamy Al-Star which is only for normal writing.

    You might want to visit Fook Hing Trading to try Parker. You might want to visit Aesthetic Bay@ION, but they might not have pens Lamy or below S$100.

    Hi just a follow up since my search on fountain pens. I was recommended a Namiki Falcon by Fook Hing. The guys there were nice and patient. In the end they recommended that I try searching online for the resin Namiki Falcon because the new falcons (identified by a metal body) cost upwards of $400, about twice the price of a the older resin version.

    Also, I forgot to mention that Printz at City Link mall (note that there are 2 of these shops at close proximity) sells quite a range of Lamy. That's where I got my Lamy Al Star. They also sell nibs and bottled ink, though I'm not sure about the brand.

      You might want to try City Luxe and Fook Hing for quill pen. I am not sure what is their place. You can get those dip pen ink bottle at strait art. Instead of quill pen, you might want to consider dip pen instead.

    Jasmine, I list most of the shop that I aware on the list. I time. Aesthetic Bay and Fook Hing do provide some discount for it. It is a good place to buy them as compare to departmental store.

    NBC is no longer in storey 4 in Takashimaya. They move to B1.

    Also, NBC in raffles shopping centre has also moved to another storey (forget the level).

    Kinokuniya Takashimaya has moved to 4th storey.

    Bookshop in Funan has closed down.
