Pilot Enthronement of Japan New Emperor Commemoration Phoenix Maki-e Limited Edition Fountain Pen

In the past, Pilot Corporation released a limited edition maki-e fountain pen to commemorate Emperor Heisei enthronement ceremony (year 1989).

 This year (2019) Pilot Corporation commemorates the emperor’s enthronement ceremony on May 1, 2019 with a launch of a limited edition of 800 pieces of maki-e fountain pen. The Phoenix ( 鳳凰ほうおう) maki-e fountain pen will be launched on May 24^th, 2019.

The Chinese mythology bird Phoenix motif is hand painted on the pen barrel. A special box is designed for this major event. A ink bottle cap is printed with the letter of the Japan new era “Reiwa” and May 1^st 2019, the original date of the era.

Pilot iconic capless decimo fountain pens popularity has been steadily increase in the recently years based on the special edition sold out rate. It is getting faster each year.

PILOT 1OOth ANNIVERSARY LIMITED EDITION EMPORER FUJI FOUNTAIN PEN

November 15 2018, Pilot Japan official released their 100th Anniversary Limited Edition Emporer fountain pen.

I was taken by surprise by the Mt. Fuji design of this limited edition emperor fountain pen. Unlike other brands, Pilot decided not to do a Phoenix or some general design which other brands did in the past to commemorate their 100th anniversary.

While some collectors feel that it is a boring, and not a fresh idea or design, I feel it is an excellent choice.

PILOT CAPLESS LIMITED EDITION 2017

Back to colour!!!

Pilot Capless Limited Edition 2017 color theme is called Crimson Sunrise. It is excellent blend of orange and red.

Only 2017 pieces will made available. Each pens are individually numbered.

It was launched on September 1. It is now available locally at all authorized Pilot retailers.

PILOT CAPLESS LIMITED EDITION 2016

Pilot Capless Limited Edition will be launched in September 2016.

Pilot move away from their transition of launching the special color for their limited edition. The 2016 Limited Edition barrel is made from resin with barleycorn pattern (guilloche technique) engraved.

It look similar to the Pilot Justus 95, except this is a Pilot Capless.

There is a divided option about beauty of the Capless/Vanishing point Limited Edition 2016.

Honestly, I am not excited about Pilot vanishing point limited edition 2016.

Pilot Singapore Pen Clinic

Pilot Singapore invited Atushi Takizawa, Namiki’s Nib Specialist from Japan, to Singapore for Pilot Pens Clinic. The pen clinic will be host at our Singapore three big Namiki pens retailers.

In conjunction with this event, Fook Hing Trading will show case some of the rare Pilot Capless/Vanishing Point, as well as others rare Pilot vintage pens such Justus, Ultra 500, Elite and others, as well as rare Dunhill/Namiki limited edition makie pens.

The Pilot Capless Limited Edition 2016 will also be on display at all the three retailers during this event.

The Fook Hing Trading rare Pilot pens display will be from July 27 to July 29.

PILOT VANISHING POINT KASURI GREEN AND RED

Pilot launched the kasuri green and red capless in rhodium trim fountain pen together with the matt blue with black trim.

The Kasuri green is a one off production colour. If you have not got yours, do get it early to avoid disappointment.

Both kasuri green and red capless is available in Singapore authorized retailers.

PILOT CAPLESS BLUE MATT BLACK TRIM FINISHING

Pilot launched a matt finishing vanishing point in blue with black trimming. The 14K gold nib is in black finishing too. It comes in the standard nib size of F, M, B and stub.

It is available in Singapore authorized retailers now.

Namiki Kabuto Limited Edition 2015 - Kabuto

I am very  glad that Pilot/Namiki decided to launch their Limited Edition 2015 in Yakuri size. It mean "soft landing" on my pocket. At least for me, I view it as Pilot/Namiki understood that the collectors "pain" during this weak market and appreciate our support in the past and would like the collectors to continue with their maki-e pen collection.

The Namiki Limited Edition 2015 Kabuto landed yesterday. It is limited to 170 pieces worldwide. It is now available locally now. I have collected mine. Have you?

Event - Pilot Vanishing Point 50th Anniversary

Fook Hing Trading launched a mini project to celebrate the Pilot Vanishing Point 50th Anniversary.

They will show case the different periods of Pilot Capless, including the first Pilot Capless pen that was launched in 1963 and a few Japan domestic model.

The fountain pens will be on display at Fook Hing Trading Pilot-Namiki display counter from Nov 15 - 22 2013.

Visitors will have the opportunity to see witness how the Pilot Capless pen design has changed, and the effort Pilot engineer has put in to perfect the Pilot Vanishing Point pens over the years.

Pilot Vanishing Point 50th Anniversary Limited Edition

Pilot Capless fountain pen is half a century old this year. To commemorate this half century old innovative pen design, Pilot launched a maple wood Capless (Vanishing Point) Limited Edition.

Previously, Pilot will made the limited edition pens according the year it were launched. This year, they are only making 900 pieces of 50th Anniversary Capless limited edition.

It is available locally now.

The Pilot Vanishing Point (Capless) 50th anniversary limited edition pen comes with a very beautiful case and a ink cartridges carry box made from the maple wood.

Fook Hing Trading in collaboration with local Capless (Vanishing Point) collectors and fan will show case the first Pilot Capless pen to the current maple wood Capless for a limited period starting next Tuesday (Nov 15, 2013).

PILOT 95TH ANNIVERSARY MAKI-E RYU (DRAGON) LIMITED EDITION FOUNTAIN PEN

Pilot Japan celebrate their 95th anniversary this year (2013). They launched two limited edition this year. The the majestic Nobori Ryu (“Rising Dragon”) emperor fountain pen and Ryu (“Dragon”) yukari size fountain pen in limited edition.

The unsigned yukari ryu limited edition fountain pen is long simple. Actually, the artisan uses a few maki-e technique to create this the mystical creature.  It is illuminated in gold and silver glow against a rich black base through a combination Taka (Raised) Maki-e and Togidashi (Burnished) Maki-e techniques.

Rumours, Rumours Pilot 95th Anniversary Limited Edition

Pilot Japan launched their 95th Anniversary this month, and it will be available locally in October. Every year, Singapore are allocated very limited pieces.

Do make early reservation soon to avoid disappointment. 

Pilot Capless White Carbonesque with Rhodium Accents

Pilot Japan launched a new Vanishing Point (Capless) to their Carbonesque with Rodium Accents. Pilot Singapore didn't feedback if this is a special edition or a regular production.

If you like the pen, I suggest you buy it soon.

It is currently available at limited quantity locally now.

Namiki Vanishing Point Minamo Raden Edition

Recently, Namiki launched Minamo raden and Stripe raden maki-e Vanishing point. The pictures shown is the Minamo raden maki-e vanishing point. This is not a limited edition.

With this new raden maki-e vanishing point, it make the first raden maki-e a good collector value from price point perspective.

I think the Minamo raden is the nicer of the two.

Pilot Vanishing Point Gun Metal Gray/Matt Black

Pilot launched another Gun Metal Grey color for their iconic vanishing point (capless) pen last Christmas. The grey are darker as compare to the previous Gun Metal color. Instread of the standard Rhodium triming, this latest vanishing point pen treated the metalic parts with matt back finishing, similar to the Pilot Vanishing Point stealth pen.

Pilot Heart Sutra (Hannya Shingyō) (般若心経)

The Heart Sutra (Hannya Shingyo) is a very common theme of many Japanese and Chinese makers including pens manufacturer.

The latest Pilot Heart Sutra on fountain pen is not their first such project. If we remember correctly, Pilot did a similar project back in the '70.

The full script of the Heart Sutra, which consist of  260 Chinese characters, are beautifully painted on the fountain pen.

Rumours, Rumours Pilot Capless Limited Edition 2012

The Pilot Capless Limited Edition 2012 has landed!!! It should hit the local retail stores this weekend or early next week.

Pilot bring out the old red and green marble like capless look alike but in black granite glossy finishing and in limited 2012 pieces worldwide.

Pilot 90th Anniversary Limited Edition Toki

It has been four years since Pilot Corporation Japan launched its 90th anniversary special edition fountain pen.

For their 90th Anniversary Limited Edition fountain pen, it uses Toki as the main theme. The Toki (Japanese Crested Ibis) was once a common bird in Japan. One can see the beautiful vermilion skin Toki bird flying over Japan blue sky.
