Caran d'Ache Chromatics Ink

While I find the Caran d'Ache ink color is nice, I never like their ink bottle as they are not practical. Caran d'Ache announced their new Chromatic INKredible colors some few months back, but it was only available very recent.

After successfully launched the Caran d'Ache Year of the Dragon 2012 Limited Edition, Caran d'Ache launched the Year of the Snake 2013.

We are not sure if Caran d'Ache has again joined hand with Li Qiang Sheng to create a Chinese calligrahy style snake motif.

When we look at the snake express on the picture, we don't think it is the work of Li Qiang Sheng.

We have booked our pieces from the authorized local retailers. Once we got our hand on the actual, we will posted more pictures and details with you.

The pen is presented in the standard Caran d'Ache standard limited edition box.

Rumours, Rumours Caran D'Ache Year Of Dragon 2012

Maison de Haute Ecriture doesn't want to miss the opportunity to catch the "Dragon" wave has joined hand with with the contemporary Chinese artist, Li Qiang Sheng to create an image of the dragon using calligraphy style.

Li Qiang Sheng is one of the well known and important contempoary Chinese artists based in Hong Kong. He is also the founder of the International Ink Drawing Society.

Li has create the dragon in Chinese image and how it should be represent in oriental style.

We noticed the the head was well positioned with a body wraps around the body of the pen. We feel the Year of Dragon 2012 design is well executed as compare to Caran D'ache Dragon Limited Edition : An Imperial Myth.

The Caran d'Ache Year of Dragon 2012 has been produced in a total of 888 individually numbered pieces.

More Dragon theme pens coming up ...

Caran d'Ache RNX.316 PVD Black

Caran d'Ache is one our least favor brand not because they are poor quality products, or bad design. It is because we just feel it is too sexy for a man, and the pen barrel is too slim. We feel it is a very feminine pen.

They launched a new collection with a code name RNX316, which mean "Round aNd heXagonal. The 316L represent the stainless steel material used to made the pens. This 316L stainless steel has been used by the Swiss watchmakers for its remarkable mechanic properties, highlighted by a precision polishing process that catches the eye at the first glance

Caran d'Ache Dragon Limited Edition : An Imperial Myth

We are three months away before the year of the rabbit ended, and we welcome the year of the powerful dragon. We will post one dragon theme pen each month as we march closer to welcome the year of the dragon.

Back in 2009, Caran d’Ache and Swiss jeweller Edouard Jud work togather again to release another enchanting and unique piece of decorative art based on the image of dragon on a pen.

Caran d'Ache Buddha Limited Edition

These Buddha pictures were taken last year when my family visited Hong Kong.
After 20 mins of cable car ride, we got to the foot of the Buddha statute. Today is Vesak day (韦塞节, 佛诞) in Singapore, but not in Hong Kong or other part of Asia.

I wish all our Buddhist friend a Happy Vesak Day.

Vesak day is a Buddhist holiday commemorating the birth, enlightenment and death of the historical Shakyamuni Gautam Buddha.

As there are diverse Buddhist cultures around the world, Vesak day is celebrated on different days by different traditions. Chinese Mahayana Buddhist celebrates the Vesak Day on the 8th day of the 4th lunar month while the Theravada Buddhist celebrates Vesak on the on the full moon Uposatha day.

The Vesak reminded me of a Caran d'Ache fountain pen launched in 2007. It is the Caran d'Ache Buhhda Limited Edition.

Divinity of Shivasism

After the successful launch of the Lord Ganesh in 2007, Caran d'Ache has again called upon Edouard Jud to create another excellent piece of fine writing instruments in the form of an art, to allow collectors to add another precious (“my precious”) under the Artiste Collection.

Lord Shiva is the third member of the Hindu Trinity, the other two being are Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu. The Hindu believe that Lord Shiva represents the aspect of the Supreme Being who are behind the cyclic process of creation, preservation, dissolution and recreation of the universe.

Due to his cosmic activity of dissolution and recreation, he has been view as a destroyer or destructor in many a time, which some Hindu feel it is erroneously associated.

They believe that the creation is only possible or sustain itself by the balance of the destruction. The balance that is very delicate between the forces of good and evil. Hmmm... It seems similar to our Chinese believe of the balance of Yin and Yang.

When this delicate balance is disturbed, and life maintenance is becoming not possible, the Hindu believe that Lord Shiva will destroy the current and recreate the next cycle to set free the imprison souls from the worldly bondage. Hence,
