Pelikan - KIRIN Limited Edition
A KIRIN landed on HOP(e)Marketplace.
It was said the wise of the old divided the sky into 28 constellations distributed over the 4 main cardinal points, with each point accommodating 7 stars in the shape of an animals. The leader choose the Dragon to take care of the East, Tiger to the West, Phoenix to the South and Xuan-Wu to the North.
What about KIRIN?
Well, KIRIN is suppose to be the wisest of all among the creatures of "supernatural / spiritual". It is the bearer of good omen and tidings, representing total compassion, peace and all things good. It take the center stage - perfecting the balance of peace and harmony.
It is described as having the head of a dragon, snout of a pig, horns of a deer, back of a tiger, waist of the bear, hoofs of a horse, tail of a lion abd body covered with scales, exuding an aura of mysticism with the power to ward off evil.
In Japan, the mythological Kirin is often appears tiger-like in artwork. It is sometimes confused with tiger. The Japanese art typically depicts the Kirin as more deer-like than the Chinese.
Sometimes, the "AMO" translated it as "unicorn" because it looks similar to the unicorn (a hoofed mythological horse-like beast with a single horn on its head).
It was believed that the KIRIN appears only before the birth of a great and wise person. Said to live in paradise, the KIRIN personaifies all that is good, pure, and peaceful. It can live to 1,000 years old.
